This comes as a recommendation from a Turkish friend of mine who in the 70s worked as the mid-West representative for Atlantis Music. Americana, blue-grass, folk…alll is in there…
Where do my bluebird fly by The Tallest Man on the Universe
The other day I accidentally posted a video by Mumford & Sons thinking that it was this video. Just to guarantee that everybody watches this magical live performance I am re-posting.
EDIT: The earlier video in this post was another band. The current video is the correct video.
The musicians have used my absence very efficiently. There is a number of bands that I have discovered recently, and I thank God I discovered them. This guy is named Kristian Mattson, and he performs as “The Tallest Man on Earth,” however, I don’t think he is taller than me. He is hell better than me in guitar though. :)
I’ve just made an interesting discovery, or that’s what I think.
The following song was made by an Anatolian rock band named “Kardaslar,” The Borthers, in the 70s. As soon as I heard the intro, I felt like I heard it before, but I had not. So what was it then???
It was one of the most famous, and quite nice indeed, songs from the 2000s: Californication by Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
I am not saying that they stole it, but the similarity between the intro of the Turkish song and the base melody of Californication is mind-blowing.
Check it out.
Here is the link to the Turkish song. Listen to the intro.
Ok, I don’t know if I had posted this earlier cuz my dashboard search engine doesn’t work properly for whatever reason. Frankly speaking, I’ve lost my earlier willingness to analyze and share music with people. As the life proceeds, it gets more and more hectic, every next day you have more commitments than the day before…But I think I will never stop wondering why most people are so much obsessed with popular singers - there are exceptions of course - and why the good musicians are not appreciated…I will also wonder if all that is spontaneous…
by yasir yilmaz. I am a history Ph.D student at Purdue, a loyal music listener, a non-drinker inebriated with music, poetry reader. On this site you'll listen to songs telling my own story. I concentrate on depictions of melancholy - not joy - because of the simple fact that narrating the bittersweet necessitates profounder artistic skills. That is, if you are listening to the right sad song you are listening a better song, a more tasteful one artistically.
write me anything. especially if you have any song or band recomendation of americana, indie folk, singer-songwriters, baroque, violin, melodic heavy metal...
